Climbing for a Cause

A few years ago Sharon Cohrs, a darling friend of my sister and I, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sharon’s a really active human; she climbs mountains; she doesn’t like cancer. She’s been through the whole gammut of treatment, including a double mastectomy. And she kept on climbing.

She’s summited Mera Peak and the South Summit of Mt. Baruntse and Ama Dablam, Nepal. She’s currently in Nepal again to climb  Cho Oyu.

Her ultimate goal? Mount Everest (8848m) set for 2011 – the first breast cancer survivor to summit it.

Sharon is one of the bravest, strongest, nicest people I know. She’s also an ambassador for National Breast Cancer Foundation. If you want to follow her adventures and maybe put some good karma out there and donate, you can go here.
