To celebrate FantasyCon in Brighton, here’s a review of Spectral’s newest chapbook, Mark 
West’s good old-fashioned scary What Gets Left Behind.

This is Spectral’s seventh chapbook and another winner. In a story with a slow burn, a decent man tries to do the right thing, and finds that no good deed goes unpunished. West’s pacing works well and his characterisation is deft. He makes the reader empathise, dislike, fear and wet her/his pants at just the right moment. This is old school horror done very well indeed.
