At the behest of my friend and second brain, Lisa Hannett, I am taking part in Project Bringing The Ugly – or showing writers in their natural habitat. None of this neat, attractive, airbrushed writer in a tidy study. This is real writers, exhausted, emptied-brained, untidy and slightly mad. And so, here it is, me after work, and the study, which is spread across 2 rooms – in all our messy glory.
