Okay, this here blog isn’t a work-related blog and the opinions aired on it have nothing to do with my day job. Having said that, this is part of my job that I love: when we get to do stuff that gives concrete help to new and emerging writers. That’s the whole point of the new Industry IQ suite of courses QWC is offering next year – and started offering this year with the Promoting Yourself Online series, and the Networking for Writers event.
I love that we get to help writers learn about the business side of things – a lot of people don’t realise that finishing the writing part of the book isn’t, alas, the end of the process. And, of course, we get to launch these things with cocktail parties with the likes of Linda Jaivin, Jeff Lindsay, Katherine Battersby, Tobsha Learner, Jason Nahrung, Sophie Hamley, Brendan Fredericks, Craig Munro, Norb Vonnegut, Jack Heath, et al.
And below are some more pics – almost all of the amazing women with whom I work – except for the superb Lisette Ogg, our Communications and Publicity Human, who was in the Alice volunteering with the Institute of Aboriginal Development Press, a placement through Indigenous Community Volunteers.
