Richard Morgan – Author Event in Brisneyland on May 26th – pass it on!

For anyone in or around Brisbane on the eve of May 26th – rock up to the Queensland Writers Centre for a Pulp Fiction Books event and meet British author Richard Morgan. Pass it on!!

Richard Morgan is one of the most exciting new talents to hit the fantasy and science fiction bestseller lists in years.

In 2002 Morgan’s first novel Altered Carbon was published. Combining elements of cyberpunk and hardboiled detective fiction – and the first in the series featuring the anti-hero Takeshi Kovacs – it won the prestigious 2003 Philip K. Dick award.

In 2005, Morgan then won the John W. Campbell Award for his novel Market Forces, and in 2008 The Steel Remains won the British Arthur C. Clarke Award.

In his latest book, The Steel Remains, Morgan enters the realms of fantasy – but beware! As Joe Abercrombie says:

“Bold, brutal, and making no compromises – Morgan doesn’t so much twist the clichés of fantasy as take an axe to them. Then set them on fire.”

Pulp Fiction and Queensland Writers Centre are delighted to be hosting an evening with Richard Morgan here in Brisbane on Tuesday May 26 at the Queensland Writers Centre, Level 2, 109 Edward St, Brisbane, 6.00 for 6:30pm.

Richard will talk, meet readers and sign copies of his books – and the word from fans in Melbourne, where he appeared last week, is that he is a fantastic speaker – so please come and join us – we guarantee a marvellous evening!
