Much to my delighted surprise and suprised delight, “The Coffin-Maker’s Daughter” won
the BFA for Best Short Story. This is especially nice when you consider the other short-listed works.
The full list of winners is available here and a sample of my story is here.
Thanks to the lovely Stephen Jones for not taking the first story I sent him for A Book of Horrors, and thanks to the wonderful Jo Fletcher of Jo Fletcher Books for publishing such an amazing and original new horror anthology!
And just in case anyone thinks I’m being too calm about this, let me assure you that I am dancing around the apartment (which makes typing difficult) in my pjs, to Train’s 50 Ways to Say Goodbye.
And so I leave you with the image of a six foot tall Womble in silk boxers and uggs.

I’m soooooo excited for you!!! Well done and so well deserved!
Many thanks!
xx
Cheers, hooplahs, champy and huzzahs!! Fabulous news, sweetie, and well deserved
Thanks, sweetie! xxx
You’ve won another award! Ho hum. There’s a news headline. “Brilliant author wins another award. ” You know how hard it is to keep coming up with new ways of saying ‘You rock!” and “Wow! Congrats, Dr A!” ? I’m thinking I’ll just do up an email template or postcards. “Congratualtions, Angela, on winning the [insert award here]. You rock!” Maybe t-shirts. And I could sell them at cons and stuff. Save everyone a whole lotta time. I could get rich!
Oh, and profuse congrats, Dr A!! You rock!!!
Thanks, Mr G.
What they all said… So well deserved. : )
Many thanks, Ms B!
Many, many, many well-deserved congratulations to you, Angela! I love that story so much.
Many thanks, lovely Duchess.
Congratulations! A very-well deserved win. And hopefully, one of the many to come. I am very happy for you, Angela!
